Speaking of which Feral. I believe I read a couple of months ago that you had fallen and reinjured your face. Have you recovered from that? Hopefully you have and are back in tip-top shape!!

I told my kids having a nasty scar sure beats the alternatives. Not being alive to have a scar!!

Yes, I am alright. I had just recouperated, got my feet tangled up, had two buckets in my hands and fell flat on my face on the concrete. I didnt even turn my head. Flattened my nose, but doctor doesnt want or cant fix the damage. Shoved my nose a lot flatter. Also I almost blead to death twice because I take blood thinner and had to quit for the operations (3).
One nostril grew together and I may get a opperation to open it. Just dont want to go under the knife for awhile. I am okay now. What it really done was makeing a slugg out of me hideing out in the recliner hideing out so long. I gained weight and am weaker and lazy. Also affected my "night life", maybe I should take some viagra? I havent flown in many years but want to start again. I just took my flight physical but havent got the results back yet. The moolas in okie city have to decide. We are happy. Thank God, my wife is a good nurse and puts up with me. This all has been harder on her than me. Thanks for asking!

Pain associated with surgery is a thing of the past, modern anesthesia and the pain meds that you are given post surgery do a great job of pain relief. I had both hips replaced in '07, I had very little post surgical pain, my doctor gave me Hydrocodone (Vicodin). I didn't even need all the medication that they sent me home from the hospital with. I had two 12" incisions on my legs that were closed with 80 metal staples. Looked kinda like zippers, they did a great job and came out easier than I had anticipated.

About two years ago had a scar just about like that for the same reason. Mine was on the left arm a little more to the outside. Hope the stuff stays gone.

According to the Dr. the surrounding lymph nodes were clean. They did remove one node from my armpit for another biopsy. As I said earlier I was lucky enough to catch it in the early stage. Speaking of anesthesia. When I was in Pre Op the nurse asked me if I had been anesthetized before and if I was effected by it. I said, "Yes, I have been" She asked what was the effect. I said, "It put me to sleep". She just laughed and said, "Well, I would hope so"

Must be. They took one of my lymph nodes too and it checked ok. They got pretty deep down in the muscle and crazy things happen but not all the time. Sometimes when I pickup something or move my arm just right it will feel like somone stuck a hot iron down in there, but just for a second. What is really crazy somtimes when I slide my shirt off of the opposite arm really fast I will get the quick hot iron pain in my left arm. I guess it must be in the nerve system. Anyhow, considering the alternative, I'll not sweat the small stuff. Good luck!

You just ain't had the right kind of back surgery. I admit, the pain relievers make it bearable, but to say the pain "is a thing of the past" is stretching it a little. You are correct about certain kinds of surgery. My shoulder joint replacement required no pain killers after I left the hospital.

gpe55bud, hope you get better soon. I hear the skin cancer can be rough.

feralmerril, would I be out of the way by asking what happened to you initially? It looks like it was quite an ordeal. Hope you are doing better.

Sir, best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

In my limited experience (one back surgery), percocet does not actually reduce pain. It simply makes you not care. Sometimes that's just as good, but not always.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

It was nothing more than skin cancer. A spot no bigger than a match head wouldnt heal-back in 1985. Got it removed, year later, come back etc.
Always they thought ok,we got it but watch for it again, and no, it isnt fatal. 13 little pieces at a time carved off through the years, and all the sudden the doctors changed their tune and gave me a few months to a year unless I got the nose cut off.
Whet you see in the picture is my scalp from on top of my head turned around and draped over a frame work of gristel taken from my ribs and ears.
Only problem is, now I gotta shave my new nose!
