No doubt Class 12 will be cancelled due to a lack of guest speakers

For many years, I helped run the cadets through the firearm's orientation class to prep them for the academy.

"Load your revolver with six rounds!"

"Raise your revolver to eye level, 'point shoulder aim' and prepare to fire ONE ROUND at your target in your lane."

"This is to orientate you to the recoil and noise of the revolver."

"Shooter ready? Fire ONE ROUND!"

The male cadet on my immediate right then rapid fires SIX ROUNDS.

"WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?" I yell at the cadet. "I said ONE ROUND!"

"Sir, I did what you said! Isn't one round all SIX SHOTS in this thing?"

Never had these problems with the female cadets!

I have a million of these stories.

Fondly remember instructing females in marksmanship. They usually listened intently some took notes and just about every one performed as instructed. They even asked questions. Several were outstanding shots, I urged them to practice more and compete in matches.
Just wish they taught drivers Ed in schools these days as " young" women are HORRIBLE drivers.
