Nope, still don't like it.
In my boredom of unemployment I've been walking the dogs a lot. I've been taking advantage of these walks to experiment with different forms of carry with different guns. Today I got a wild hair and broke out my Galco MOAB holster for a 5" 1911.
The advantages: easy on/off, comfotable to carry while walking, doesn't get in the way with leashes, don't have to worry about exposing it reaching for something in my front pants pockets and easily concealed a full size 1911. The disadvantages: very awkward draw especially with 2 dogs on leashes, covering jacket almost prevents a one-handed draw, and the possibility of falling on my ass with the gun behind me.
This was the first carry holster that I bought over 15 years ago. The easy on/off aspect of the holster really appealed to me. At the time I was doing a lot of long distance road trips between Tucson and Denver. Back then, concealed carry permits were not readily available in Colorao. On most of the routes that I took, I was legal to carry a loaded weapon inside of the vehicle but could not carry it concealed outside.
The first lesson that I learned was that it quite literally was a PITA to carry middle of the back while driving. I'd forgotten about the awkward draw until today. Maybe one of the reasons that holster was at the bottom of the "box of holsters" in the closet. I'll hold onto it as it does have a niche of being quick and easy to put on, but I now remember why it's been so long since I carried with it.
