If a man were to look for an old Millett rear sight to fit a 24-3 3" what sight height would he need to look for? I checked Bowens list for his rough country sight heights and the 3" wasn't listed on the height chart. Thanks for the help in advance.

Try calling Brownells customer service. They might have the old catalogs from back in the day when Millet made these sights. They might be able to give you the exact product code of the sight you need, too. Would be useful information.

Thanks for the offer wheelgun28, but I want to keep the original with the gun just in case down the line. That sight looks sharp on your 657 though.

OK, no problem!

If I can measure part of it for you just let me know what you need and I am happy to offer.

I cannot recall those sights being sold by height. I have several of them and the boxes all just identify them as fitting a certain S&W frame with no reference to barrel length or blade height. And of course, they were only made with square sight tang ends so they won't fit a newer gun with a round tang.

They are sold by height, was just hoping someone would have a range of which height corresponds best to the 3" special. Going through Bowens chart for the rough country sights which are sold the same way, the 3" 24 isn't listed. I have a couple of his smith sights on a 325pd and 396ng, but they are both shallow v express blades that don't corespond to anything factory. My others are from him are on rugers.

Wheelgun28 if you wouldn't mind would you measure the blade height on yours?
