I wrote my congressmen yesterday via the S&W and Ruger links. I hope you did too.

I opened my email this morning and had response letters from Senator Chambliss, and House Rep. Westmoreland. Others are receiving response letters from the Governor, Luet. Governor. I know these are generic letters, but hopefully we will all be heard.

Anyone else getting these letters?

I live in the land of Coumo & Schumer.
Coumo is the man that rammed through a late-night, closed-door, arbitrary and flawed gun control law.
Schumer is the man that called on Wal-Mart to stop selling AR's so they could ban them first.

No, they are not listening.

Yep... got an email from just about everyone Rep it went to (canned statement). I hope they all get flooded with emails and screw up their server!

So far I've gotten three. One from Roy Blunt and a couple from local yokels. I've sent e-mails to one senator and rep and gotten nothing. I didn't expect anything from them as they are both BHO forever supporters. I still wrote and I have never voted for either.

Yeah, they are listening but they aren't hearing us.

Dear Mr. Comrad :

Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition to a ban on assault weapons. Your opinion is very important to me, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you on this issue.

As your Senator, I strongly defend the rights of citizens to use firearms responsibly for recreation al purposes or protection of one's family and home. At the same time, I vigorously support efforts to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and gangs that wish to use them against society.

The Federal Assault Weapons Ban expired on September 13, 2004. On this, as with any issue, there are many different views. I appreciate you taking the time to express your opinion on this important issue. Please be assured that I will keep your views in mind .

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of further assistance. I invite you to visit my website ( Home | Robert Menendez-US Senator for New Jersey ) to learn more about my work in the United States Senate.

I've received responses from Congressman Lankford, Senator
Coburn, & Governor Inhofe that I consider positive. They all
seem to be committed to conserving 2nd Amendment rights in
Oklahoma & the United States.

I also got 3 or 4 letters back. I got a form letter from Matthison last night. I used that path that ruger made available. Its a easy way of sending the message to all politicans that repersent your district.

Senator Wicker sent this to me.

Thank you for contacting me in opposition to proposals by President Obama and others to prohibit so-called "assault weapons." I am glad to have the benefit of your views on this important issue.

Recently, the White House and congressional Democrats have put forward proposals for stricter gun control laws, including a ban on certain semiautomatic rifles, shotguns, and handguns. Since coming to Congress in 1995, I have been a strong and consistent defender of the Second Amendment. I have opposed efforts to impose gun restrictions on law-abiding citizens, and I do not feel more gun control laws are the answer to the problems confronting our nation. I believe tougher enforcement of existing laws is a more effective means of addressing crime.

President Clinton signed the 1994 "assault weapons" ban into law before I was elected to Congress. The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act prohibited the manufacture or importation of semiautomatic "assault weapons" and large-capacity ammunition feeding devices. The bill included a sunset provision limiting the duration of the law's authorization to 10 years. As a result, the ban on "assault weapons" expired on September 13, 2004. I do not support efforts to renew this ban.

Be assured I will continue to defend our constitutional right to bear arms. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of assistance.

With best wishes, I am

Sincerely yours,
Roger F.Wicker

I live in IL and did it throught the Ruger site. Got canned political responses from all.

I got emails from both Senators and the one Representative that I emailed here in Texas and all 3 said they are against an assault weapons ban or any new gun laws.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2

I got one from Bill Nelson, D Florida. Blanket response same is on his website. "I am a hunter, I support the 2nd amendment, and I will be voting for any and all new gun bans."

I just love it when they say they support the 2nd amendment and common sense gun laws.
Getting real tired of the phrase common sense comming from the left.

I've actually received replies to my replies. Bill Nelson and Rubio. Nelson is a joke. I told him he needs to represent his constituents instead of the media.

You all had better luck than I did. Neither of my Texas senators nor my Texas representative responded to my e-mail through Ruger.

I've received two. One from Duncan Hunter, specifically stating he supports and defends the second amendment and the right to bear arm while the other was from Barbara Boxer. Now she, nor her staffers, read the email and the response was clearly a pre-canned response suggesting she "works hard to represent you and other Californiansto the best of my ability and that she'll keep this in mind as the Senate considers legislation on this or similar issues".

Clearly, she doesn't represent me nor does she know what "my" issue is. A rather generic position. Seriously considering a follow-up question.

I got e-mails back from 3 of my Reps. from Indiana and
all of them we're favorable in response to the Gunners.
Said they would fight ANY legislation in regards to new
gun laws. But then again, they are politicians......

I doubt they are listening. You need to send the email, write a LETTER, and MAKE A CALL.

THEN DROP a check to the NRA.

EMails are tabulated for topic.

Snail mail goes to a mail processing center and is check for safety then scanned digitally and sent to staffers.

ONLY CALLS actually interact with staff and get their attention.

SHOW UP AT PUBLIC MEETINGS AND SOUND INTELLIGENT.

Calls and showing up and sending MONEY are the only thing to do!

I wrote and I received just the responses that I expected. Oh well, had to try. I've been feelin' a little activisty lately.:)

Mine are replying but 'm not so sure about listening. Though one of the local known anti reps had changed his form letter reply from "ban guns, ban guns, ban guns" to "mental health, mental health, ban guns".
