Mismatched numbers

I am looking at a Model 3 Russian Third Model , with lanyard loop and ivory grips.

The gun is in excellent condition with over 90% nickel, and matching patina on all parts, and look like they have always been together.

The number 1874 is written on the heel of the frame along with the number 47352. the back of the right grip panel also has the number47352.

The number 8153 is on the barrel, barrel latch, cylinder, and on the heel under the right grip.

Is this normal for this model?

How much do these mismatched numbers affect the value?

Sounds perfectly normal to me. 47352 is the serial number. The 1874 is a good indicator that the revolver went to Hartly & Grahm for the ivories. The 8153 that is under the righ stock, cylinder, barrel latch and barrel are assembly numbers the factory used to keep all the parts together.

Your guns seems correct if the assembly #'s match

Hi There,


As you have already learned, the markings on your revolver are
correct. Assemblers/fitters would fit all the parts together be-
fore final polishing and finishing. The "assembly" number was
used to reunite the parts after finishing.

I have a 3rd model Russian that is very close to yours. My serial
number 47405 and the assembly number is 346. I've posted a
couple pics for you to see.
