Missouri is one vote away from Constitutional Carry . . .

You'll still need the permit to CCW out of state . . .

Exactly......this is what people continue to forget.

I for one, like being able to go on vacation to states that recognize my CCL from my state. This allows me to be able to protect myself and my family. Even though i am not in my home state. Constitutional carry is only good for your state.

Always remember............You will never gain anything. Without losing something else........Its just the way our government works.

I wish Texas would do this. Sadly, a goodly number of Texas legislators, even Republicans, oppose constitutional carry.

Not necessarily. Many more County Sheriffs and Police Chiefs suppout CC in Texas--many of them have a "d" after their names. They can help put more presure on the politicians-like what happened to get OC to pass. What has to be fought--are the IDIOT editors and such (like our local news editors) who just love lying about ""the streets will run red with blood and it'll be just like the wild west with many shootouts" thing. Well, like the CC Caller times posted a few months ago--none of that has happened.

One legislator has already announced a switch to the opposition when the veto session rolls around, although six legislators who would have supported the measure were absent for the original vote.

Be sure to send some dispatches from the front. Bloomberg, his acolytes and advocates are sure to be pressuring the legislature not to override the veto.

Other parts of this omnibus bill include authorizing a lifetime CCW permit and expansion of "Stand Your Ground" law(s). There is still some conflicting information about when the new laws take effect. The most popular tale at the moment is that everything but Constitutional Carry takes effect in 30 days, while Constitutional Carry begins January 1, 2017. May take a few days to sort this out . . .

HMMMMMMMM??!!!!

A little bit of knowledge or no at all is dangerous.

There's no one more pro gun than me and but Constitutional Carry and Open Carry are not on my supported list.

Training is essential part of firearms use and ownership.

Prove your proficiency and knowledge of the law first.

With carrying a gun comes great responsibility to yourself and those around you. It's very different than having a weapon on your nightstand.

I reckon the preponderance of clearly untrained and/or staggeringly incompetent and/or irresponsible drivers on the road must drive you nuts, huh? I wonder who kills more people----these drivers, or untrained and/or incompetent and/or irresponsible gun handlers----or maybe it's the various and sundry legislators----past, present, and future?

One of the first things you learn in Problem Solving School (if you're paying attention) is to make sure you're trying to solve the REAL problem---so as to avoid wasting resources messing around treating symptoms.

Is that what they call "food for thought"?

HMMMMMMMM??!!!!

Ralph Tremaine

And lest one surmise I wasn't paying attention in Problem Solving School, the REAL problem isn't the legislators------it's the voters who put them where they are---and have been---most particularly those voters of the "low information" variety. So---if one seeks a problem to solve---------------------------!!!!

Congratulations, I salute your states stand.

MT has had discussions on this and it may come to pass. I don't think many here see it as an issue though because the only time you need a permit is to carry concealed upon your person while in a city or town. Loaded gun anywhere in car, no permit, out walking in the hill carrying concealed, no permit, open carry anywhere but, government buildings, no permit. I would keep my permit no matter, for out of state travel and here you just hand them your permit and skip the background check as it was done when you got the permit.
