Mod. 41

Will be receiving a compensated M41 by USPS Monday, if the mail is on time? LOL.
I also have a 1968 vintage M41 with the EFS. That pistol was shipped to a Treasury Agent, as well as a M19. Unused, and it will stay that way. Has invoices and all papers. Tools too.
I don't know about a comparison between a Ruger and a Smith, but I once owned a High Standard Victor and it was more accurate than any M41 I ever owned. Big Larry

Mine is a 4 digit under 5,000. I bought it from Maj.Henry Bires a member of the Army pistol team post Korean war. That and a Bob Chow 45. I talked to F.Bob when he was still alive and he remembered Bires and his pistols, I believe they were close friends. The 41 is beat up in a good way, hand work on the grips, scratches and wear showing. It probably has several 100K rounds through it. It is very accurate, much more than I can do. It shows minimal wear on the bolt face and parts. I shot plenty of HV .22 through it, never any hypervelocity junk, just regular 22 LR. I have been using CCI standards for years now. I had it give me some trouble last range trip and I took it apart while there. I could see a wear point on the bottom of the slide, put a dab of grease on that spot and it resumed operation. I run all my guns with a lot more lube than recommended. They are machines, metal to metal, oil and grease make them happy. There is no downside except it attracts dirt and if you pull PM regularly, shot or not, that is not an issue. I read about all of this 41 misery and wonder how many would respond to a little oil and grease?
