Mode 686-6 hammer block

Hi All, I recently purchased a 6 in. model 686-6. Do they come with a hammer block or did S&W stopped putting them in? I had sideplate off and there is not a hammer block.....I'm wondering if I dropped it? Can't find it anywhere on my bench. It was bought brand new. Thanks in advance. Tony

Why would you remove the sideplate on a new handgun needs to be shot before dissecting.
