Model 10-5 dao?

I am tempted to buy a snub nose model 10-5 D (and maybe an A, did not read numbers myself) 436226
It is double action only, is that the way they were made? Is it possible to add single action by simple means?

It was altered to DAO. Some police agencies mandated it, and some owners did so as a precaution. Massad Ayoob has written extensively on the subject. If you want to restore the single action capabilities all you need is a new hammer.

Age on this specimen, I guess the A should not be there, I looked in the FAQ and my guess is 72 73, can that be right?
What value would that gun have i US? I live in Sweden so the values are different. The modification on the hammer how much does that affect the price?
I will go and test shoot it tmorrow...
