Model 10 marked SCHD

I have located a model 10 heavy barrel marked on the left side of the frame under the cylinder marked S.C.H.D. Does it anyone know what this means for sure other then speculation? also the crane has a spade marked on it. Any help would be great and I hope this is a former SC State Trooper revolver. Thanks

Did you ever find anything out about your Model 10? I have a pencil barrel Model 10 marked SCHD on the backstrap.

I believe SCHD is the South Carolina Highway Department....The name was changed some years ago ...It's now the Highway Patrol... Not sure exatly what the name is now, someone will chime in I'm sure...
