I just inherited 2 Model 10 revolvers. In the mid-1980's my grandfather and uncle went to aa Dallas gun show. They got there late and most of the booths were packing up. One guy had a bunch of Model 10 revolvers and didn't want to pack them all back up. He sold them 2 for $100 each. I've hunted and plinked with my grandfather, uncle, and father over the years but somehow never shot either of these pistols. Dad was a Colt guy, but said these were accurate and fun to shoot. At some point he put Uncle Mike's Combat grips on both pistols, but the original wood grips are here. I'll run a rag through these tonight and will hit the range tomorrow if it warms up.
The 10-6 has serial number D996XXX and is inscribed EPD 169R on the barrel above the extractor rod. There is some holster wear, but the gun is in great shape, 95%+.
The 10-8 has serial number 5D28XXX and is inscribed 175R on the barrel. It has more holster wear, but is still 90%.
I'm guessing these are old police arms that were replaced by semi-autos. Euless Police Department maybe? Is there a way to find out when these pistols were manufactured and who they were shipped to?
