All,
I received my 1975-vintage Model 13-1 from Chris McVety at Amerigun late last week. After the obligatory tear-down, cleaning and polishing, here's the result.
I really like the brushed blue (400 grit?) that his refinishing guy did. In addition to the blue, he installed a front Tritium blade. These old guns had the front sight pinned-in, so it was a simple matter of replacing the front sight. He also made an 11-degree muzzle chamfer to aid accuracy and protect the rifling.
The grips are ones purchased on ebay and were sent back to 'Dee' at Herrett's where she checkered, re-shaped (from the Roper profile to the Trooper's rounded shape) and re-oiled them in Tung oil.
The trigger was done by the folks at Mag-Na-Port. They do a passable job of raidusing triggers.
I will have them most likely do their 'Mini-Bob' on the Service Hammer to make it more friendly to the web of my hand.
I'll post a range report when I come back from Sweden in a couple of weeks.
