Several years ago I bought a Model 20 blue, non-Bangor-Punta box in case I happened upon the pistol. (I know, a cart/horse confusion issue…)

Since that time I haven’t seen a Model 20, except in magazines. Research in the SCSW indicates that, even if I found a decent one, I probably couldn’t afford it.

The reason for this post is to ask for opinions on the authenticity of this box. The serial number listed dates to 1961, some years before B-P bought the company.

Thanks for your opinions and advice.

Wow, that's a strange one. That definitely looks real and I am sure the gun exists, although they must have had low/no demand. Do you know anybody who has access to the database? They can run the serial number and probably find the invoice.

Here's the page from the 1961 catalog showing the Model 20.
