Model 29 for concealed carry?

When I first started carrying in the mid 90s, my gun was a 4” Anaconda.
I now carry a J frame or a Bodyguard 2.0.
If you find a 629 MG works for you, go for it.

There was a member here, can’t recall, who said he carried a 6” 629, a 357, and some sort of two shot firearm.
No pics were ever posted though.

Travis Bickle?

Sometime in the mid seventies I bought a model 29. Beautiful gun, fun to shoot. A pain to carry. Sold it and never reconsidered the sale. So since this post is fifteen years old I wonder if the OP is walking lopsided yet?

A bit of a dated thread resurfacing here, but just to pile-on a bit anyway LOL…

While this isn’t mainstream by a long shot and isn’t something I’d widely recommend, I’ve found success with both 4” and 5” N Frames carried in respective Barranti Leather Summer Classic IWB holsters. I have a couple of DeSantis Speed Scabbard OWBs for the 4-inch guns (Model 28s in my case) but I really prefer IWB.

For me, the comfort is astounding. While I’m not in LE, not conducting foot-pursuits or kicking down doors, I’m living the classic suburban life in and out of cars, standing, sitting, shopping, walking, a little hiking, and maybe even doing some napping (haha) while wearing one of these for up to 17 hours at a stretch.

As stated prior, a good belt is a must. I use belts from A&G Custom Gunleather.

As always, YMMV.

Beat me by a minute. 😉

I carry this 3" 629 when in the Rockies or Alaska. Sometimes around home to becouse it is my all time favorite gun ever.
For IWB I have this Lobo with a hammer shield, necessary for us fat guys.
For OWB I have this open bottom that is great becouse I have N frames from 2" to 6.5" and it works for all.
Blacky was in Alaska trying to steal our salmon. Good feeling to know I was king of beast that day!

Nice setup, Sixgun! Not trying to be ignorant, but what do you have in the small leather cases on the left w/ something out at the top?
Thanks!
(I like your cap of Skeeter!)

Many thanks! Those cases you mention are speed strip pouches from Milt Sparks. All the rest of the leather goods are from Barranti Leather (and so is the Skeeter hat haha!)
