Model 29 Presentation Box

Hello Guys
I need some help on a Mod 29 that I want to buy. I have only seen the Smith & Wesson presentation boxes with blue flocking. Around 1979 did Smith & Wesson make any with a black material like the pictures I have here?

The blue covering on these cases deteriorated quite rapidly. Your case has had the deteriorated material removed and was relined with black cloth. Contact Joe Cebull (jcelect on the Forum) to have your case restored to its near new condition.

Hello Bill
This is a gun I was looking at purchasing but the owner wants a substantial price thinking the case is NOS old Smith & Wesson. 44 looks nice NOS even but for the price he wants the case needs to be correct as well. I have another 44 with a really nice case inside...almost mint ...but the outside has some staining ...I think...on the top of the wood! Does Joe redo the outside wood also?

Yes . . . and he does a fine job. He will do any repair work needed including hinge replacement.

Presenttion cases

The case you have pictured is a D type of liner used from 1979-1985. The original covering NEVER withstood the test of time. That case has been recovered!


This is the same case restored!
