Just a slight concern. About a year ago, I had the cylinder on my pre-dash Model 36 replaced. New cylinder and original extractor. When I got it back from the smith, I noticed that the extractor sometimes would stick a bit. Nothing at all serious. Empty cases pop out just fine. I thought that it would loosen up with use. It hasn't. I think the star might be a bit snug. Has anyone else had this problem. All of my other revolvers are smooth as silk. Should I head back to the smith or simply leave it alone?

I'm presuming up front the gun is clean.....
If it's binding when loaded with empty casings, you might check the alignment pins with a magnifier, to see if there is any damage to them, and that they are straight. Also check for contact where each "point" on the extractor "star" itself seats down inside the cyl. face. You can coat these surfaces with ink from a "Sharpie" or similar marking pin, then cycle the extractor itself. Abnormal contact will usually rub off the marker and show a contact site as a "shiny" spot.
If the catch is being caused by either or both of the pins, you can use a broach to clean up the hole(s). Use caution however, as you want to clean up burrs only, you do not want to make the hole over-sized. (damage)

If that doesn't cure the problem I would suggest checking the extractor shaft groove and the alignment "tooth" in the cylinder for burrs . . . especially since you're dealing with a replacement cylinder and the original extractor. Failure to put empty cases in the cylinder when removing a tight extractor rod can cause the tooth to become twisted and/or the groove to become damaged. The result can cause binding when extracting.
