Model 39, now with a 52 quality trigger pull :)

I'm in need of couple pictures from a 52 owner. Specifically, I need a picture looking down at the upper trigger stop screw. Just field strip the slide and get the best picture you can. I'm curious if the screw sits beneath the drawbar or if it makes contact only with the trigger. If you can tell if the screw goes straight down or at a slight angle as well.

The second is of the lower trigger stop screw from inside the magazine feed. If you remove the grips and can get a shot of the screw head from either side.

I'm working at converting a 39 over to the 52 trigger setup. This is a range only firearm with a PSW .22 conversion on it. I've already done the hammer, sear, drawbar and trigger. It's functioning properly, the way the SA worked on the 52 I was able to shoot but I need some better guidance on locating the stop screws.

Question, is the upper set screw lifting because you unscrewed it part way for the picture or is it just an effect of the camera angle?

No, QMBOSUN. That is exactly as it looks. The lower trigger screw was a bit harder to take. Those were the best shots I could manage. Let me know if you need any others and I will do my best.

No, these are fine. I need to pull the trigger back out and look up into the recess area where the screw would come out. The lower set screw pics are perfect, I can take some good approximations off the photos for locating that one. As a matter of fact, the upper is also fairly easy as well. I'm just a little stumped over what exactly the upper set screw is hitting on. It seems to be against the wrong side of the trigger.

No problem, if you need any other pics, just let me know. To be honest, this gun is new to me, I haven't even put a round through it yet. I picked it up along with a couple of others from a friend of my daughters. He needed cash, so I helped him out. I wasn't looking to buy more guns. I don't know a thing about it other than what I have read here and elsewhere online. I am looking forward to getting to the range.

Finally had a down day to finish this modification.

For anyone interested in doing this, you will need a #36 & #29 drill bit and 6-32 & 8-32 taps. The top Set screw is the 6-32 and the lower is the 8-32. The top screw is installed parallel to the grip body or tilted about 18-20 degrees forward of perpendicular to the slide rail.

I centered the lower stop screw 1/4" above the magazine ejector notch. The top screw is 3/8" forward of the magazine well, almost to the edge of the angle section on the forward side.

Not a thousand dollar model 52, but it's fine for Saturday afternoon plinking .22's. The new innards ran about $150 between Numrich and Brownells.
