Model 39 serial number range

Hello Mr. snake, nice gun. Have one. Is it stamped "Model-39-2" with
the -2 a bit smaller? Mine was shipped May 1970.

Hi gm, no my 2 is a bit larger and the dash and 2 are stamped at the top of the 9 and a very small bit crooked just before the trigger pin.

It sure is interesting all the variety in these guns and all the different guns in the same run.

Yea snake, thats the fun of collecting them. They are all factory original.

OK, maybe I am out of order here but I bought my Model 39 no dash on Sept 9th 1969 serial # 106xxx and also purchased one for my brother Serial 106xxx consecutive order, paid $106.00 each brand new still in their boxes.Both had the long extractor all the way back to the safety, also with the small bump on the barrel feed ramp, but there was no problem as it fed beautifully when I released the slide for the first round, that is how you load it and ALWAYS should load it, I saw above member didn't like losing the single action when pulled the safety down and trigger went forward, all you have to do to return to single action is put the safety up and recock the hammer for single action.
