I aquired a model 57, 41 mag . Unfortunately the chambers are stretched and th cylinder is worthless. These are hard to come by. I did find a titanium cylinder made for the more modern pistol a number 357 something light weight 41 mag. I would think the two cylinders would be the same since they are n frames guns but I am not sure. Does anyone know ? Thanks

Do you have a ‘44 cartridge or bullet to test in bore and barrel? Could be converted from ‘41 to ‘44.

I've never heard of a chamber 'stretching' but there is an M57 cylinder for sale on ebay right now that looks like it's in nice shape. It's $170 so it's a bit more expensive the titanium cyls from Numrich's but you'd be able to keep your gun original-ish, if that matters to you. Chances are it'll still need to be fitted, replacement cyls don't often drop in and function properly.

As far as the titanium M357PD cylinder goes, I had Mark Hartshorne convert an old M28-2 to .41mag using one and an M58 barrel. He said there were some issues with fitting the newer generation cylinder to the older gun but he got it done and it functions flawlessly. The weight savings makes the gun more comfortable to carry without increasing recoil excessively.

Yup, this happens. I thought that the 58 I had was terribly inaccurate, but came to find that it had been converted to 44 Mag and not marked

I've loved that little monster since the first time you posted it. If you ever decide to part with it give me first dibs!:D
