Model 60 Holster

I did some searching but didn't find enough opinions on what I needed. As a disclaimer, my standard carry gun is a 1911. However, I will soon find the need to carry my wife's model 60 from time to time. Mostly when we go out and, well, I don't want the waiters calling the cops. I've never carried a revolver before. Does it require, or need, something special? Snap? (don't use one), some sort of shield? I'm looking for an IWB and since it's probably going to be a few times a year, a Sparks, Rosen or some other custom maker isn't needed. I'd like to get something in the next couple of weeks. Rosen has some of their Express line IWB's (which I've used for 1911's in the past) but they seem to have nothing above the trigger guard. What would that be like? Even a Galco would be fine for my needs; just curious what I should be looking for...

Truthfully, even a Mike's IWB holster would probably work. It's not like I would need to reholster it smoothly if I was to run into a situation where I felt the need to draw it.

I don't have any personal experience with them, but I've heard good things about Don Hume IWB holsters. It shouldn't be hard to find them in stock somewhere online.

+1 on Ray @ Lobo. His prices are very reasonable and his turnaround time is immediate. There are quite a few off the rack options, but Lobo is a great choice for affordable custom made rigs at comparable $.

As Photoman said, the 60's exposed hammer calls for a shield.

Great advice. Lobo rocks! I'd put my order in quickly as his business is picking up as word of his high quality holsters at a fantastic price are getting out. Used to be a 1-2 week wait but is now up to 4-5.

I'm a 1911 guy too and have been for 30+ years. Whenever I carry my ancient 36 I feel a little undergunned compared to my Colt Commander being on my hip.

If concealability is your primary focus, look no further than a "Remora 8uc" or a "Galco UDC158."

I use both regularly as my primary CCW guns are a 60 and a 642.

The Galco has a very discreet j-hook; of course, the Remora has no part visible.

When I carried a Model 10 (I know I'm old) I had the hammer bobbed. It was the most comfortable gun I ever wore. It was in a Bianchi IWB (before reinforcing the holster mouth became popular).

If that's not an option, or even if it is, I agree 100% with the previous posters, get a quality rig with a shield and covers the triggerguard. I always liked Don Hume (since the '90's).
