Hi guys

I recently picked up a virtually new 63 "no dash" 4" in the box.

Thoughts?

Greg

I have one and love it. It would be the last gun I would ever sell. I bought it new many years ago, shortly after they came out.

That's a beauty and well worth the $700, especially with all the goodies. Pinned barrel too. That might be too nice to shoot.

Actually, you did better than anyone above has alluded to. That handgun will increase in value at a faster rate than anything except maybe a Colt Python or a Registered Magnum. Further, it is one of the handiest and most accurate of anything in its class. If you are into SHTF survivalism you have half the handguns you need, just add a .357mag to your BOB.

The only thing that I would do is to add a fitted cylinder for .22WRM, but that is just me cause I can do that with little effort. .......

You know for us old-timers, it's kind of hard to imagine paying $700 for a .22 J frame revolver. However, I paid $296 for mine brand new back in '79 (serial 104401). Don't know what the inflation value would be today but I bet it's at least $700. So, congratulations to you for your wise purchase. And I mean that in all sincerity. I don't think I've shot more than 50 rounds through mine. It's a fine gun, but I always enjoyed shooting semi-autos in .22. And I prefer to plink with my 2 inch 34-1. I'll attach a pic of mine exhibiting some of the most horribly mismatched stocks ever to come out of Springfield. I used to be upset about it, but now it's kind of like a badge of pride! Wierd huh?

I can beat those prices with my $125.00 purchase. Of course, mine was thrown from a moving car and hit the pavement, and required a trip back to the factory and another $125.00 for repairs, parts, and shipping. It runs like a Singer sewing machine now.

Loeman, I feel your pain about the grips, I have a m 66-1 nib with grips just as bad, how it left the ship like that we will never know. Friday at 4:59 maybe!

The 63 is a neat revolver but really not sure whats driving the market so high when the K-22 is superior in almost every way.
Admittedly far less J frame 22lrs were made but that was a direct result of the lower demand when they were new .

Again not ridiculing the Model 63 or 34 just dont see spending more than K-22 when you are getting "Less gun"....All just IMO....Wink ;)

Wow! That gun is crisp. Congrats on a great revolver

"Thoughts?" How about lust, envy, coveteousness? And right there in my Native Central VA, too! Nice find. :)
