Hello all...Me being the lover of all things 4-inch K frame and especially the stainless M64 and M67's, what's everyone's thoughts on this one?

I bought it recently from someone in northern Florida. The action seems very slick and overall in quite nice shape. The question I have is about agency marks it has on the left frame side? It is stamped "PXPD", which I am assuming is "Phoenix Police Department". If that's the case, does anyone think that it's worth the trouble to request a letter to see if it was sold new to that agency and if so, what is the opinion about the valuation either way? In other words, does everyone think it is worth the money to do so? I don't have any connection to that agency, but it would be nice to know if S&W or the agency itself stamped the gun in this way.

From serial range, I think it dates to the late 1970's. The grips seem to have an different style speedloader cut-out that I am used to.

Thoughts on this?
