Hello all. Been gleaning info from this sight for years and just now finally joined. I picked up a used 648-2 and having a hard time getting info on it. It’s a matte gray finished stainless. It’s only a 6 shot and has 22 MRF ctg on the barrel. Also has S&W Houge grips.

The 648-2 was re-introduced in 2003 but wasn't around long as it was discontinued in 2005. Should be a fine revolver. I have one of the earl 648s with a scope mounted and it is very accurate. Enjoy, and welcome to the Forum.

Thanks for the reply and the info. Just talked to S&W and was told it shipped in 2004. I was assuming (wrongly) that this was newer, newer ones. I don’t mind the 6 shot, 8 would be better, but I do like the matte finish. Didn’t know there was a separate 2 year run of these back in 2003. Thanks again.
