Heard from a friend that one of the LGS had just taken in a large group of S&Ws to sell for an estate. I was looking over the revolvers on display and sales guy tells me there's a really cool one that wasn't put out yet, would I like to see it? Well you can't turn down an offer like that and he went in the back and came back with this one.
Model 65-5 done by Ted Yost during his tenure at Heirloom Precision. Now I'm officially it's caretaker. Trying to make time to go to the range tomorrow to try it out. The work that went into this revolver is just incredible, from the sights to the barrel contouring and the action is so smooth. I hope y'all like it.

Look closely at the rear sight that Yost installed on......

........Kansasgunner' new treasure. It is mighty near a perfect solution for enhancing the rear of fixed sight revolvers.

If someone would produce and sell them for Js and Ks I would be a buyer for some of each and sure many other Folks would be too.

Kansasgunner I hope you are going tp purchase a really nice holster for this treasure you acquired.

Maybe something tooled from Doc Barranti or Karla Van Horn @ Purdy Gear.

Congratulations and stay safe.

For now this EPS pancake holster is my only 3" K frame holster. Great quality holster from an established maker. I'm hopeful that I can find something else in this size at the Wanenmacher show next month. If not then I'll contemplate a custom order. My first thought is a serious business holster like the Vertical Scabbard from Kramer Holsters.
Thanks for all the comments on this revolver. I'm very lucky I had the opportunity to adopt it.

I'm a big fan of Kramer Leather. I've got three of their IWB holsters.

For custom, you may also want to check out TT Gunleather. They do exotic hides, like sharkskin, alligator, elephant, etc.

ICTwadcutter and I headed off to the range with an assortment of his 38 and 357 handloads and factory loads in 38 and 357. The Heirloom revolver performed great. Good groups with all the ammunition, but it shot like a laser with the Sig Gold Crown 38 Special defense load.
I really like the sight configuration. Easy to find on different color targets. I am extremely pleased with this revolver.

Anyone know where such sights can be had and installed on a Model 13?

That is the way a fixed sight revolver should be. If one could get those sights installed with that kind of quality and get that kind of sight picture, I would be much more inclined to a fixed sight revolver. The 3" K is just a bonus - they are really well balanced and about as "just right" sized as can be.
