Model 65 cylinder - factory or modified?

Is this cylinder factory stock or has it been modified? The reason I am asking is due to the black rings on exit end of cylinder as shown in the pic? Serial # prefix BKZ. Thanks

Firing residue, easily removed with a lead remover cloth or (by report) a standard pencil eraser, among other means.

As Alan said. Every revolver will get those. Harder to see on blued guns but it'll still be there.

Looks modified to me with some kind of sleeve...perfectly round, each over-laps the next and they extend into the cylinder the same depth.

It's not modified. It is burn rings for sure. What you're seeing inside of the cylinder is the throats. Since this gun is stainless the burn rings are more noticeable. You can polish them off with things mentioned above. I don't see much of a point though unless you're selling it as they'll just come back next time the gun is shot.

It's a working gun...it has been fired....I have a whole bunch that look just like it.

Absolutely normal. I used to let it bother me years ago. Now I simply clean the face of the cylinder with solvent and ignore the rings.
