The other day I found a model 66-1, 6inch, with the correct/matching target stocks and the original box. No tools. It is 98% or better. It is on consignment in a small gun store in So. Cal. Asking $695. Seems high to me, but.....

Opinions?

iunno, doesnt seem terribly high, try talking it down to as close to $650 as you can

From what I read about SO CAL prices it might be right in line for that area. If you don't see many decent S&W's for sale there it might be a function of the relative scarcity of supply available in the state.

Seems high to me, but I bought mine for less than $400.00, but had pachys and no box, but in 95% cond.

Again, the prices all seem to be a regional thing.

Prices for a 66

Two weeks ago I sold a S & W 19, 2 1/2 in, bbl new in the box for $799.99. I have another 66 for sale and the reserve was $749.99. It just broke the reserve. Be patient you will get your asking price! They are beautiful guns.

Mod 66 prices do surprise me. The police trade in 4 inch guns brought $200 when the great semi-auto switch happened in the 80's. It seemed as if there was a never ending supply.

Even the non P&R later dash revo's always have a $500 ask price at shows.

The 6 inch guns can be had at a more reasonable price if you shop around.

That is pretty high in the real world. California? You guys are on a way different price structure.

Really depends on just how bad you want one.
