Ok I have an opportunity to buy a 66-2 4 inch 50 year ATF Smith. The gun itself is in awesome condition except for the stocks, the stocks have several dents and deep scratches in them. The frame and barrel are perfect, the gun locks up tighter than any I have held. The guy at the pawn shop said it was carried a lot but hardly ever shot,I have not had the stocks off, they are smooth with no checkering.Really it looks like the stocks are not correct, the gun is almost 100 percent, the stocks are rather beat up.The presentation box has some issues,it looks like it got wet at one time,it's not in good shape at all but it's all there, the belt buckle is also in the box,it is missing the tools and paperwork. The gun has been priced to me for $800.00.If it was a 3 inch or 2 1/2 I would have already jumped on it.Is this gun worth the asking price or not.It seems that most comemmorative guns really don't have any added value unless someone is really connected to the theme.Any advice here would be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance.
