While breaking down, to fully clean my "new to me" 66-5 revolver I took the hand off of the trigger. I now know that this step was unnecessary, and under the circumstances ill advised. But in my defense, I was following a YouTube instructional. I had quite a hard time reinstalling the hand, as there was no pin to hold the torsion spring. My question is, is there supposed to be a pin holding this spring from launching? I know that some models do have a pin. So is mine just missing? Or do some actually not have a pin? It does have a nice little cupped recess that held the pin eventually. And it seems to function as designed. But being OCD I've got to know if it's right. Not to mention possible failure to function properly when least expected. Can anyone help me answer this question? Thanks.

I suspected as much, since I don't remember seeing a hole for a pin. It's a shame though, since it's very difficult to find that tiny pin after it flies. Only later did I find that removing the hand was not necessary for detail cleaning. Thank you for your quick response.
