Just took apart a super dirty 327PC gun that I just got in trade. When I went to remove the trigger, the hand kind of bound up and the spring popped out. Of course, when I went to put it back in, it went into outer space and is gone for good. Are hand springs frame specific, or is it one size fits all, except for the J frame? Also, I noticed that the back of my trigger didn't have a groove for the spring to set in, is this normal with the newer guns? TIA.

The J frame spring is for J only. The other models are the same spring, K, L, N, X. Best to watch a youtube video on installation because install is hard to describe. I have done it in a minute and other times, it takes three hands.

I watched a good video, from TK customs, but just as soon as I thought I had it in, boing and good bye!!!
Still wondering about the groove/notch, or lack of, for the short end to poke into, otherwise the spring just seems to maybe wander around in the channel and thus the reason for it wanting to bind up.

There is a window in the right side of the trigger so you can see when the end of the spring is in there. You can put the long end of the spring in a spray can straw to hold it while placing it in the trigger. Once the spring is in place, start the long hand pin in the trigger, compress the spring with a 1/8" pin punch or hex wrench, and slide the hand all the way in.

No window in the hammer on this one, or a groove for the short end to ride in. Makes me think that's why it went crazy when I pulled the hand back from the recoil shield, to remove the trigger. As long as it's contained, for its use, things are okay, but once they get out of that area, things don't operate as normal.
