Model 67

Here is a Model 67 no dash I picked up a few years ago.

What is the grip and where can I find one?

Because I have a no dash that has CCSCPD engraved on the frame. It is actually my current carry gun in an El Paso saddlery Sky six rig.

Here she is. They assumed it was a police turn-in, but maybe not?:
- no explicit police markings, unless the frame stampings are indicative of a police armory?
- it's a no-dash. wasn't the Dash-1 used more by police for the improved sights?
- would a LEO add a trigger shoe?

I think I'll remove the trigger shoe first thing.

Nice score!

I'm happy it was still waiting for you when you went back. Enjoy it!

Nice revolver! I bought this very well maintained, lightly used, first year no-dash Model 67 about 7 years ago and paid $350, so you did well!

Pachmayr Presentation Grips.

I was told to hang onto these Grips, because back in the day,

these Pachmayrs were made in California and now the plant is in Mexico.

Does anyone know what the stampings on the grip frame represent? Circle-P? Triangle-D?

or the "V" on the cylinder?

I had my wifes and my issue model 67-1s out just the other day. Neither gets shot anymore, but we will never get rid of them. I replaced the hammers from the double action only LAPD issue back to original. Both have other modifications.
The heavy barrel and model 17 front sight on mine was a popular modification during the 4" only time on LAPD,(before my time) lots of the cutdown model 14s had a 17s sight or the sight off the 14 if it was old enough to be pinned. Saw a few with pinned ramps but they were rare.

So your HB 67-1 is a mod, and not an agency-special order? Looks like the 4" HB 14 with Patridge sight my supervisor carried. Loved the looks of that gun. Shot like a target revolver (which it was). Forgive me, your HB the one on the bottom, correct?

My 67 no-dash is rarely shot, but it always walks out of the safe to shoot a perfect score on CCW renewal. After 19,000+ rounds, it knows what to do. Maybe next time, I'll use the trigger and not let the gun work by itself. :D Be safe, partner. Check 6.

As I've posted before, there are a lot of optimists out there. Many "cement-mixer" guns on consignment in my range/LGS with jewelry store prices. My 67 no-dash was one of the early ones, purchased in '73. Any no-dash is going to be 40 years old. Very few guns in this age range are in decent shape, unlike the one you saw. I'd also pass.

Three or four years ago I was in a pawn shop (that had a very nice gun section) looking at snubby H&R .22. They had a 67 in there that had sat for a long time. They basically made me buy it for $200. An hour or so of cleaning and polishing and I had a nice gun. It sold on GB last year for around $500. .38s can be great bargains these days as revolvers are taking a back seat to bottom feeders and everyone wants a magnum if they do get a revolver.
