Not my finest moment. Please close and delete if possible. Not to say there was not a problem, there are several in fact, but I should have handled the situation differently. I was upset and angry and should have composed myself before writing this thread. Thanks.

Just got back from the range and I am extremely upset.

Over the last couple of months I have been buying Buffalo Bore Ammo to carry in my revolvers. Both 357 and 38.

Yesterday I placed another order for some more 357, so I could run a box of it today to test it out. I didn't want to shoot it all and not have some back up on the way as it is my carry load.

Today I ran a box of the Buffalo Barnes Tactical 357 Low Flash-Short Barrel with the 125gr Barnes bullet. Item number 19H.

Well it went really badly. I tired to fire 10 rounds through my 386 Night Guard. Only 7 rounds fired. The other three would not fire no matter how many times I struck the primer with my Night Guard. They were not light strikes as you can see in the pic below. I also put the 3 rounds in 2 other guns. My 65 Ladysmith and my 686PC. Same result.

Does Buffalo Bore just assume that no one will ever actually fire this ammo because it is so expensive? This is ammo that I have been trusting my life to. 1 of the 3 rounds had been loaded in my 386 for weeks. The other two that failed to fire were still in the box. I didn't even bother to try to fire the other 10 rounds because I was so disgusted with the ammo.

I tried to call Able Ammo to cancel my order from yesterday, but it already shipped. I will have to return it when I receive it. I also left Buffalo Bore a voicemail and emailed them as well.

I am removing Buffalo Bore ammo from any gun it is currently in and will have nothing to do with this ammo ever again. How could I possibly trust this ammo?

Do you really think BB would know when they are running a bad batch of primers? Before posting here, you should be talking to them.

I have some badass 45 Colt from them and am sticking with it.

I have been buying and shooting buffalo bore ammo for many years, thousands of rounds, not once did I ever have an issue.

Do you have an issue with the firearm? Have you contacted Buffalo Bore?

Even the big manufacturers like Remington and Speer have lot issues from time to time.

I have to agree with At Liberty. If you were handloading and you ran into you handloads that wouldn't fire, would you be livid at yourself? BB is a commercial ammo company, but they are at the mercy of those who they buy their components from. I suspect they would have been very happy to have heard from you had the message been polite. You probably would have even gotten some more ammunition to replace what you bought. But from what it sounds like in your post, the message was none too polite.

Let us know what BB does to correct the issue; I would really like to know.

I tried the 3 rounds in 4 guns as stated above. I have been shooting for 20 years. About once a week. I have never had an experience like this. Never in hundreds of thousands of rounds. Again as stated above I have left them a voicemail and sent them an email. I have not heard back yet. (Did you actually read my post?)

I have been doing some research since this happened and have comes across a number of folks who have had problems with Buffalo Bore ammo as well.

As I have been looking through my Buffalo Bore ammo closely today, I am finding that some of the ammo is not loaded with the bullets stated on their website as well. That's not cool.

Ok so do what I did when I got a box of Speer Gold Dots with bad primers, call the manufacturer and get it replaced. Or don't.

Yeah, that's not good.

It does validate my belief that any ammo for defense, even in a revolver, needs to be throughly tested before being trusted.

I feel 50 rounds is the minimum in a revolver before I trust a load. 100 is even better. Any problems with the ammo should reveal themselves, POI can be tested, and trust can be built.

Honestly, I would rather carry a revolver loaded with 158 LRN from a tested lot that hits to POA, than carry an untested wonder bullet.

When you want help from someone, it usually works better to be polite.

The $12/hr person that fields calls didn't deliberately send you a bad box.

He/she can either expedite solving the problem, or put your complaint on the back burner.

You must be very rich if you've bought and shot thousands of rounds of Buffalo Bore.

Good lesson about testing ammo. Buffalo Boar is no better than stuff you can get for half the price or make yourself.

It is boutique ammo. That's what I liked about it. It was loaded with low flash powders and loaded pretty hot etc. But there is nothing at this point that will help me overcome the trust issue with this brand at this point. I'm just moving on from it.

HMMM

I wouldn't spend the $ on it myself & stuff happens with primers/powders. I had my 1st bad primer in 9mm recently in app 10,000 rounds of handloads. I'm sure BB would like any unfired ammo back, to try and track the problem & reward you with some that works. Sounds like a bad lot # slipped thru the QC cracks. You can test all you want, the remote possibility of a bad primer/powder will always exist in ANY AMMO handloaded OR factory made. BB uses R-P brass? The different bullets than advertised sounds fishy. Where do you buy all these BB's from? I'm kinda wondering if you got some knock off's.

If you wanna part with your current BB inventory I'll be happy to take it.

I am not rich, just smart with my money and have no bills outside of my mortgage, but I have a lot of toys....

It would be kind of hard by any definition to call that being SMART with your money :) But more power to you!

Directly from Buffalo bore and Midway. Only 2 places I have purchased BB from. The order i placed yesterday was with Able Ammo. All well-known entities.

Do a google search and you will see many others complaining about not getting the bullets as advertised and the rude responses they received from BB. Bad stuff.

Here is a thread about the same problem I had today:

Lots of this kind of stuff out there. I'm done with BB

It happens. Speer, Liberty, Hornady, Remington, BB, etc. Ever get a box with some of the bullets inserted BACKWARDS? Stuff happens in the production process and QA doesn't catch everything. Ever drive a vehicle that had a recall? And on and on and on...

The people you should be talking with are the Buffalo Bore people, not us. No more posting until you've spoken with them...

I know. Buying something cash that I enjoy and having fun with it is stupid. I should get credit card debt. Stop investing In real estate, finance everything and save my meager earnings on the bank instead of enjoying it.

Gotcha. Cheers and good luck with your bad primer lot.
