This gun was commissioned by bascrambler and built by the late John Gallagher. It started as a transitional .38 Outdoorsman. Cylinder bored to .44 Special, installed a Model of 1950 4" barrel cut to 3.5" with gold bead front sight like a Registered Magnum and a rust blue. Grips were non-relieved smooth Targets custom checkered by ???? I've since changed the grips to transitional magnas numbered just 30 off from the guns serial number.

Can't take my eyes off that gun, just perfect.

I love custom guns. I understand keeping pristine guns stock and the same goes for hard to find models. I only have 2 that I wish were still stock. I have a 5 screw 1955 that I made into a 45 colt long before I every knew it was a semi collectable/ I regret doing that NOW as I have plenty of others 45 colts. I also have a 455 triple lock that had been reamed and partial recessed to fire 45 colts before I got it.

The rest of mine came to me already a bit off. I bought 7 of the J&G 10-7 gun smith specials all missing their original barrels, I have a 12-2 that came to me with a badly pitted barrel and cylinder, the "pre" 28 I made into a 45 colt came with coated cylinder. The cut down 1917 came with no barrel, the Brazilians were typical road hard Brazilians, the pinto Smolt's 15-2 2" frame and cylinder were badly pitted, I also have a 2 1/2 " 357 made from a 10-2 that had a junk barrel, the one 629-1 had a 8 3/8" barrel that had been tapped for a scope, the other also had a 8 3/8" barrel and although it was nice I had found a total of 4 629-1 for $500 each so the long Tom became a 45 colt. I have an I frame 22 that came with a 2" barrel and almost no blue left. Now it is a 4" with a fresh blue job
