Money Bomb the NRA on 03/24/18

Just found this - way to go!

Not all gun owners are with the NRA.
Some just ride on the coat tails of dues paying and $$$ donating NRA members. Collecting guns and enjoying the freedom of doing so with no thanks to the NRA and members.

Others can't afford to join. Their pro 2A stance and voting at the ballot box on gun issues are worth more than mere money. They are the ones who know the true value a small cheap handgun for their personal protection in neighborhoods most of us would not choose to live in.

I'm very much in agreement. I certainly understand if NRA membership would be a financial burden...that's excusable.

Regrettably, there are far too many that apparently are blind to the fact that if not for the NRA (not "any" other group) we all would have lost our gun rights 50 years ago & right up to today that fight goes on.

I'm pretty sure there were members of this forum that joined or donated that didn't publicly make it known, and that's OK.......but sadly, I'm also sure there were many members of this forum that sat on their hands and did nothing.:(

OTOH, there are some non gun owners who are NRA members. They understand that if one right can be taken away, they ALL can be taken away.

I signed up my wife and my youngest son.
They don't know it yet though ;)
I also chose digital only subscriptions on their magazines so none of the money for their membership goes towards the magazines (which my older sone and I already get).

I also posted the "Money Bomb" idea to 3 other forums I'm a member of. Got some lively discussion and numerous other people making extra contributions too!

We aren't just blowing hot air.
We are putting our money where it counts.
New members and seasoned members donating to the NRA.
Let's keep growing our membership.

Man, those are some great numbers, + all of us that just donated, some multiple times!
Could we have done more? Would it be better if everybody that owned a gun had kicked in?

Sure. But this wasn't bad, no sir, not bad at all....

Where did you find those numbers? I'm curious because I'd like to find out how much the "money bomb" raised. When I searched "money bomb the NRA", I saw that just about every gun forum out there had a thread on it.

My sense is it was a great success, but a number would be interesting.

Thanks.

SWEET! NRA raised $2.4M and Everytown raised less than $14k in March.

The REALLY interesting thing is that MOST (a.k.a. more than half) of the NRA contributions were $200 or less. That means that over $1.2M of the contributions came from folks like us - the 5 million members.

Yet U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla., tweeted
"The NRA is NOT a civil rights organization, it's a fundraiser for gun manufacturers trying to protect their interests."

Gee Ted, spin much? Denying reality much? LYING much? Or do you really believe that there are more than 6000 gun manufacturers that each made an itty-bitty contribution of less than $200 apiece?

Amazing that someone at that level could be so clueless - or maybe duplicitous.

The long knifes are back out folks, it didn't take long. Give if you can....
I just gave $25.00 more, please at least match me.
Yeah, the royal wedding took center stage for a little while, but this is back in the spotlight. You're absolutely right, get out in front of this, NRA!
I just gave another $25 myself, who's next? :)
