most and least favorite commercials

Why do so many commercials and Infomercials have sales guys with an Australian or British accent? are they supposedly more credible than US actors??
Steve W.

Basically...yes...we tend to pay more attention to English accents as they sound more proper and intelligent so sonsubconsciously we give them more weight..even the less formal Aussie offshoot of the kings English. A mop is just a mop...but a MAUP! ....well you got to have one of those.

I like the new Geico commercial with Max the pig on the zip-line. The Mrs said the pig reminds her of me when we zip-lined in St. Lucia...

I hate those commercials with the super fast talking disclaimers. I like that new dodge ram commercial with sam elliott talking that shows a large herd of wild horses chaseing a red dodge ram. Thats because I once had the same beautiful experiance in remote nevada years ago.
One I both like and hate at the same time is that credit card commercial where that lady free climbs that pinnical near moab utah. It is dareing death yet beautiful and riveting!

One of the better ones, "I've train my dog and this cockatoo to play all the hits from the 80's. Hit it Mr Butters."

All else fails.

To me, a really good commercial is like a short movie. You have an opening, a middle, and an end. They are very few really good ones, and far too many bad ones. Here are some of my very favorites:

Carling Black Label beer Castaway/Crab:
Carling beer advert - crab on desert island - YouTube

E-trade Money coming out of the wazoo:
Y-Out The Wazoo- ETrade Ad Superbowl Super Bowl Sunday Advertisers Commercial - YouTube

Apple 1984:
'1984' Apple Macintosh Commercial (Full advert, Hi-Quality) - YouTube
