Most expensive firearm you ever bought or almost bought?

SLT223: If the Thompson were for sale here you could add a zero to the price! I have never even see this full auto Beretta model before. Is this a police issue firearm in Europe? I know Glock at one time offered a full auto model but they are very scarce here!
Jim

Well the modern semi auto version of the Tommy gun is sold for $ 2700 here, so that was an easy decision.

Here's some background on the Beretta 93 R

The Glock 18 is still in production. I received the special license to acquire one last month, now awaiting delivery.

Most expensive firearm you ever bought or almost bought?

The Ruger gp100 with 4.20 barrel chambered in .357 magnum with a 6 shot cylinder.

That I bought earlier this month with sales tax included I paid $559.79 for it.

That is the highest amount of money I have ever paid for a firearm

Well, there is one at my local gunshop that I'd love to have, but I have absolutely no use for it, and it's too expensive for me now to just be a safe queen. But it is SO pretty.

It's a Sporterized Springfield, 30/06, with the most beautiful piece of wood I've ever seen for a stock. I mean the metal work is great, but it's that hunk of wood that JUMPs out at me. Shoot, I don't even know of a place I could shoot it, and I don't hunt anymore anyway, so it would just gather dust. I have to stop and look at it every time I walk by though. Price...$1,200.00. And price isn't THAT far out of my normal comfort zone, but I can't can't justify it just to look at.

There are a couple of $3,000 Parker shotguns that I just can't afford. :) And would never use them either.

I have paid over a grand each for 3 of my S&W revolvers. A 3rd model 44 Russian, a 4" 16-4 and my 500 with a 2 power Leopold scope.

I yearn for a registered magnum and a Barret 50B BMG. Thing about the Barret that makes me cringe is a scope for it would be around the same price as the gun itself.

well, cars and old tractors are the same! a lot of these rich farmers have a krap load of cash laying around and a hankering for their old toys, LOL!

Yes, lucky for me I have and old tractor and an old car. Maybe I smell rich.

Did buy

Seekins SP10 for $1600 LNIB ($2500 new and currently made to order) topped with a Leupold Mark 4 ER/T 6.5-20x M5A2 factory refurb for $1200 (same optic on the Army's M2010 and probably about $2000 new I think)

Almost bought

Bid $1200 on a Remington 40-XS .300WM on Gunbroker. Sold for just under $2000. Technically a good thing, as raising the funds would have been somewhat difficult, but do wish I could have snagged it. Don't expect to see another one anytime soon.
