In case you didn't notice, it's today! Still not too late to recognize that special woman in your life.

Mrs. Chad and I don't have any kids, but we've had a dog most of our married life. Close enough! I made her a lovely dinner last night and fixed her breakfast this morning.

I lost my mother to cancer March 22, 1998. She was 82 and on in home hospice. She made my three brothers and I each feel like we were her favorite. I took time off work to care for her, spent nights at her house and drove her to doctors appointments. It was heartbreaking to watch her deteriorate, but I've never regretted a minute I spent. It's been 23 years and I still miss her.

My wife's parents are in their 80's and still going strong. Her mother is a little firecracker and I just adore her. We haven't seen them in over a year because of COVID, but hopefully we'll visit them in Traverse City this summer. I'll phone her later today.

Any of you do something special for Mother's Day?

I lost my mother when I was 21. She was only 47. My Dad lived to 91
and never remarried.

M is for the million things she gave me.
O means only that she's growing old.
T is for the tears she shed to save me.
H is for her heart of purest gold.
E is for her eyes with lovelight shining.
R means right and right she will always be.
Put them all together they spell MOTHER. A word that means
the world to me.
