Motor vehicle technology

Most of the tech doesn't bother me. The ones that do:

the seatbelt nag
engine stop/start
I'm still a bit suspicious of the long term durability of direct injected engines. Plus they sound like ****.

My biggest concern is the possible lack of electronic parts availability in the long term. My 98 Corvette IMHO is a bit overly complicated and some electronics are simply no longer available. Some failures render the car inoperable, some don't.

JR loves the rear camera. He wishes we could drive in reverse all the time.

They make this for my truck. Just install a front camera, and you can have a anytime front or rear view camera.

Bet they make one for your Honda too.

Technology and the inability to fix it is what's made my 19 Silverado High Country an absolute ****. Can't wait to get rid of it. GM is supposed to call me tomorrow with their offer.

Like I said, I'm no mechanic, but that E85 fuel is bad for your car if it isn't made for it. (According to the 'net mechanics.)

E85 also contains less energy per volume. 27% lower mpg than gasoline. And it costs more. What a bargain!

Just to add to my post....this is what I would like to find.....brand new...not a restoration....I remember when the Datsun pickup...could be started with a crank....simple little four banger in this truck would suit me just fine

I guess that's where they get the HP, from the turbo design. Just really amazing to me.

Higher internal pressure. These engines run harder than bigger, natural aspirated engines.

Impressive? Yes. Healthy? Not so much!

We have a newer car now, 2018 vs. 2010, Kia Sorrento. Has a lot more technology. Really like the BU camera, great in parking lots! One reason we bought this one is that the dash screen is in the dash, not sticking up above it!
A warning light comes on on the dash when the OA temperaure goes below 34* or so. The book explains that this is to tell you that the road may be icey! What if the road is dry? Kind of dumb if you ask me, a tiny bright warning symbol on all the time to annoy you. With AWD a slipping condition between the wheels would be better as our previous 2010 Hyundai Sante Fe had. Warning lights on all the time (we live in the Black Hills) so lots of below 34* temperatures coming up! Guess that is why there is black tape (Click and Clack tip).🤭
