Moved from CA to IN. All I can say is "Wow!!!"

Good for you - I could never stand to live there even though it has much to offer.

I have always said that if we ever do build a border fence, it should be in the shape of a hockey stick.

"It literally pushed me to the point of losing interest in a great hobby."

That is the whole point for Liberals.

Bizguy,

Glad you are free to enjoy American freedom.

Great Leave!

California seems to be a place that every resident gun owner would like to be "FROM". ( Those of you remaining need to vote them out) Are all the politicians just stupid or are they under the impression that all the citizens are? Attractive place but evil politics. You know you made a good move, congratulations, enjoy!

When I lived in Calif.[all my life] I never missed voting except in 1968. My dad died that day. The trouble is that there are more illegals voting than honest citizens. The politics in Calif. is the same as other states, that is dirty. I voted for term limits there because if the politician can't steal enough money in 2 terms, why give him 3. ????

Like another poster said - Lifetime CCW for $125, no 1 gun a month restrictions, no list of good/bad guns, they're all good!

Take that old fellas' advice and come to the big-gun-show in Louisville in Oct, guns guns guns.

After you've been here awhile, we'll talk about Class III items.....:)

Hoosier buddy

When you are outnumbered by pro-choice, gays, people on welfare, illegals, tree huggers, druggers, atheiests, and whatever else special intrest groups that a certain party romances for votes, thats what happens.
Certain areas of california are beautifull. Mostly in the northern part. I built up a nice collection of guns way back in california. I also made a good liveing there. I never did like the congestion, but california is a lot bigger than LA, frisco and dago! There are some out of the way places even there. I once was in a fracus with a gun involved right in the center of downtown LA, and after a couple hours of explaining, I walked WITH my gun. I would hate to have had the same thing happen anywhere else in the US under the same circumstances. Of course that was about 35 years ago.
I bought almost my entire gun collection in california and except for probley some of you rich guys, my collection is a lot better than many.
I done most of my collecting between the mid 60s to about 1985. You could find anything you wanted in those days I am guessing probley eaiser than most anyplace else in the nation. I left in early 2,000. I know things have got a lot worse with stupid laws on lead hunting bullets etc, might give a condor lead poisoning that eats a dead coyote or something. Also the "approved list" that guns must pass to be legal. Like what company can stand that exspense for low selling models? Its sad that a handfull of politicans can make things so miserable for so many people. But what is sadder is the many uneducated idoits that elect them. Maybe things will turn around some day.

Wi has fallen away from the midwests ways ... moving to Ne ... I was astounded to be able to drive my stang in town without picking up police cruisers trailing behind waiting for me to screw up.
I can easily relate to the change in atmosphere once youve relocated to the real midwest.
might not be perfect ... but its a heck of alot closer to it than where we came from

I was stationed in California 1967-1968, it wasn't that bad (This was pre GCA '68). Handguns were a 5 day wait while they checked you out with DOJ in Sacramento, long guns were show your ID, driver's license or military in my case, pay your $$ and walk out. California is one of the 6 or 7 states that does not have the RKBA in the state constitution, IIRC there was a petition movement to correct that a few years ago, for whatwever reason it didn't make it to the ballot.

It's Sad to think that this happens in our USA. I'm reminded of the bad old days of the Cold War when East Bloc defectors would go into our grocery stores and have that same type of "Kid in a Candy Store" experience.

Don't forget to "throw out the trash" on 11/02/2010.

When I first moved from California to N Carolina at the age of 23 I could not believe how restrictive things were. ABC stores.. Blue Laws... motorcycle helmet laws... on and on... didn't seem like the free America I grew up in CA.

Here in Chattanooga we recently flushed the Blue Laws (much to the chagrin of the self-annointed do-gooders). Gun laws are pretty few and far between, but still can't buy a bottle of wine or Seagram's 7 in a grocery store... we'll fix that soon enough. ;)

Bizguy (James), I departed the leftist/Socialist/Big Government/Big Taxes state of California 13 years ago and I experienced the same joy as you. I am now in the left-leaning state of Oregon, but it is not nearly as bad as California.
