MP22 Compact thread adapters

Update-wrenches available for the factory barrel nuts, and perhaps most interesting, is a mod for fixing the rubbing between the barrel nut/adapter and slide. See attached PDF. Let me know what you guys think. :)

Wow. ewk, you are the man. You have earn business, I'm the first man that complain the barrel rubbing the slide on the net.

I have to one of bushing and sight in my compact.

Ewk. Can you make a threaded adapters wrench for M&P 22 full size? I want to order from you, Kill 3 birds in 1 stone :D

Be even better if it was the other end of the 22C wrench. ;)

Hah, while that's a great idea, I feel like it's probably not in EWK's interest given that as far as I'm aware a wrench comes in every .22 full-size box, - just not the compact.

That is an idea making it a "universal" wrench for the full size one too, but I didn't think it was a problem getting the adapters off the full size ones with the factory wrench? cmichael, did the included wrench not hold up to the program, or do you want the ultimate wrench?

I have a full size .22, and use Silencerco threaded adapters for the Sparrow and Spectre II, and Clean the adapters every few thousands round, and have to take it off from the barrel with the factory wrench, But the wrench that come with the gun is cheap quality and bend out of shape, Now no longer works.

Did you got my order of 2 of your bushing and the Wrench? When will you send it out?

Brilliant. And based on the quality of your thread adapters, I'm sure these will be well-made, as well.

Thanks for the quick support of the new platform.

Got 'ya on the reasoning on the wrench thanks!

Your items are on their way as of this afternoon, thanks so much for the order! :)

And thanks for getting mine out so speedily today, too. I'll be sure to report back how the bushing/wrench works, too. :)

Thanks EWK for update and tracking send to my E-mail. If you decide to make one for the full size .22, keep us on update.

Thanks.

Stalking Rhino makes me nervous. Their website is bare and and their phone number goes unanswered.

I ordered my 22c thread adapter from Twin Tech Tactical in Texas...it's on the way now. I bought the 22c for the sole purpose of suppressing it...thanks to a member of this forum I found TTT...

And by the way BigWaylon, just submitted my 4th F4 for the original Spectre II I was going to buy to begin with...dealer called last Friday and said "it just came in do you still want it?"

Dumb question... :D

Got the wrench and barrel bushing. Wow, EWK. Just wow. This is a super heavy-duty (and I mean heavy!) wrench!

And the bushing works a treat. Fit nicely, no adjustment needed, and it re-centers the barrel very, very well.

I really think the .22 Compact is design flawed in this regard. I know it was "designed" to rub like this (for better or worse), but you really need a bushing to fix it, or a tweak in the design of the pistol.

Anyway, a couple of pictures showing the bushing, and the centered barrel.

I really have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about EWK. They advertise only what they have available, they ship before I've even had a chance to wonder if it's shipped, it shows up very quickly and just works. I wish all purchasing experiences were this good.

Good decision. I'm waiting on my second one to be approved any day now. Picked up my first Warlock II yesterday. At 3oz, it almost seems as if somebody forgot to put the baffles in it. The Spectre II feels like a tank compared to the Warlock.

Speaking of tank...random suppressor pic coming. Dealer had a Salvo 12 (it's a 12ga shotgun suppressor to save anybody the time of looking it up if you weren't familiar with it) on display. Hasn't seen one in person. Took a pic of it next to my YHM LT (.30 cal can):

I'm the FIRST person that complain about the barrel rubbing on the slide online, Some members online thinks I'm over react about O.C.D.

I have seven .22 pistol, I like a kids to take things apart and learning functions on all my guns. I like Smith warranty, but it take few weeks to get it back.

Finally, EWK have a good idea to make some things like that improved the Compact. I had talk to Smith customer service about the EWK bushing.

I got mine too, It's look nice and heavy duty on the wrench. I also got 2 bushing, I have to wait for Smith send my Compact home.

What's next? After markets SS barrel, Apex trigger, Sights

Lighten up, really. You didn't discover a new planet or something. MANY of us noticed it was rubbing immediately. Heck, I noticed in the store before even buying the thing that it was rubbing. Why do you think I told you not to bother sending it in - because it's normal!

Now whether it's GOOD for the gun or not, S&W decided this was how the Compact was going to work. Like you, I'm being proactive about it with the bushing from EWK, but let's not lose sight of the severity of the issue - which right now is unkown, and nobody is complaining about their .22 Compact falling apart. Time will tell.

FYI, The wrench will work on the full size .22 and P22 as well.

Thanks so much for the report on the wrench and bushing! :)

Isn't the wrench kinda of loose on the full size? The flats on the full size should be around 10MM? (.394") The wrench is made to fit the .416" flats on the compact's factory nut.

I use the Threaded Adapters from SilencerCo for the M&P 22 full size and P22, The flats is 10.10mm, and your wrench is 10.60mm, It will work.

Unless a S&W engineer/designer/tech chimes in, nobody can say for sure whether the barrel/slide rubbing is even an issue.

Most all semi auto pistol slides rub against the barrel during movement. Some more than others, and to varying degrees. It's never perfect clearance where it's like a free floating barrel on rifles.

With the m&p22 compact I can clearly see from looking at the barrel/adapter underside that the slide is in constant contact when cycling. But the action is silky smooth and doesn't affect accuracy or anything. In terms of wear and tear, the slide is aluminum and the barrel is steel... so no concerns over barrel damage there.

But like i said, there's really no definitive explanation about this unless someone from S&W gives us a technical answer. Nothing is exactly "broken" here but people are quickly jumping the gun trying to "fix" things.
