Multiple Myeloma .. Prayers Needed UPDATE #116

My Daughter-in-Law was recently diagnosed with the same thing. Currently being treated at Moffett in Sarasota, In Jan they will go to MD Houston for further treatment including Stem cell transplant, which is a 2 month process. They will have to rent a house or condo while there. Stem cell transplant when successful will add about 10 yrs to her life. A lot of research is being done and hopefully new treatments will evolve.
Her current Dr. as well as their own research indicates that MD Houston and the University of Arkansas are two of the best places for treatment of Multiple Myeloma.

My Uncle went through this 2 years ago. After the transplant, it is rough for a while. The good news is he is doing great now. Hopefully, it works out for your brother. He will need some support these next few months. Good luck and prayers headed your way!!

Quick Update :
Mark got a call from his Doc's and they have set up a tele-conference December 20th in the afternoon .. Its with the group of Doctors up in Nashville at the Vanderbilt University Hospital ..
Not sure what it will consist of but he should get a date the stem cell procedure will take place if all goes well .. so much can go wrong .. a simple cold would stop the procedure from going forward as he can't be ill when they kill off all the cells ..

They have come so far in cancer treatment, there is hope today. Encourage him as I know you will to continue to fight and keep the faith. Prayers will be sent tonight for him. Family and friends support is so very important in these times.
