Good luck to her .. That is very young to have acquired the disease ..

Next Tuesday my wife will start the harvesting of her stem cells. This well take place February 12th and could take five times no one knows until they start Then the 26th of February she will get a heavy dose of radiation and stem cells will be reintroduced the next day or so. She will be in U of M in Ann Arbor Michigan for up to two weeks or longer. All of you are in my prayers as this is a lot stress for all involved.

It is a horrible disease. My father died of it in 1965 at the age of 67 back when there was no course of treatment. I was to be off to my first tour in Nam that year so I got to spend some limited time with him although I missed his funeral. It takes a strong and brave person to deal with having the disease. Today there are treatments that work. I am reminded that Tom Brokaw the news anchor and journalist of years ago was stricken with the disease after he retired. He wrote a brief but encouraging article about it in the New York Times. It's here: Tom Brokaw: Learning to Live With Cancer - The New York Times.

I think the article says you can live with it.

So now there are three members of our family or extended family with the same form of cancer.

I'll be praying for them. I'm sure others here will be doing the same thing.

Bob

Well tomorrow they start retrieving stem cells from my wife it may take up to five tries. Then on Feb 26th she will get a heavy dose of Chemo then her stem cells will be put back in 2 weeks at U Of M in Ann Arbor. Then next couple of weeks she needs 24/7 care at home. So next week we both will have a lot on your minds. The Doctors say she in good if it were not for cancer.

Mark is scheduled for his dose of chemo the 16th or 17th .. he's staying self isolated .. He's scared he will get the flu that is going around Nashville .. so he's been holed up in the room except to go to his appointments .. Wearing a mask also .. My sister is with him and has been cooking in the room some and ordering stuff that's delivered ..

Just saw this thread today... I'm praying for Mark and the other brave folks that are struggling to be cured. May the Lord put His arm around all of you and make you strong and help you fight the cancer successfully. I will continue to pray until I hear you are all better. Keep your faith strong! Prayers also for the families that are doing their best to support their loved ones who are fighting for a cure. May God bless you! Linda

Mark got the infusion of chemo drugs Friday .. He's feeling tired and very thirsty because of the drugs ..

Tomorrow morning he goes into the hospital for at least 24 hours as they'll give him back 1/2 of the stem cells they collected last week ..

He will then return to the room Tuesday if all goes well .. He will then stay for the next 30 days as his immune system rebuilds !!

Mary goes in Monday they showed her the room she will be staying in today. Like your brother a heavy dose of chemo. Our house right now is off limits to all but Mary and Myself. She will be in Ann Arbor lucky only about 45 min's to one hour drive for me to see her. Her room has a 50'' TV ,frig, and couch sleeper for me to spent the night. She had a good outlook about this today. I will pray for your brother and others who have this terrible disease.

Sending healing and comforting prayers to Mark and Mary to help them in their journey to conquer their disease and to feel better. Dear Lord, put your Arms around them and help them through their treatments and keep them safe. Keep their friends and families strong and supportive to give all the love they need to successfully fight their disease and recover completely. In Jesus' name, Amen [emoji120][emoji120][emoji120][emoji120][emoji307][emoji307][emoji307][emoji307][emoji56][emoji56][emoji56][emoji56]
