Multiples of exactly the same thing??

It is a curse. I have exact duplicates and then those that are the same model but differ in configuration.

My only submission is a pair of 2.5” 66-3s. I wasn’t seeking out to have 2, but while searching GB stumbled across my 2nd one (hogue grips) at such a good price I had to take a stab. For $550 all-in I had to snag it. Figured I would quickly flip it or use for trade fodder.

Then I found out I kinda LIKE having 2…

If you are looking for highest quality or rarity, you may have to stop at one example. If you are a dedicated collector, looking to complete a set, or just bargain hunting several of one model is very common.

Still holding at 30 guns maximum? ;)

Yes but I manage to justify them.

Years ago I inherited my FIL's 66-1 MO Highway Patrol 50th Anniversary set that he bought during his career. I've never shot it. Thanks to a forum member I found a 66 match for it that I can shoot. Seems like as good a reason as any.

And then a pair of 28-2s because my first was reblued.

Yep, I am guilty. Some models and configurations I just can’t say no to, e.g., 2.5” 19/66, 3.5” 27, 2.5 and 4” pythons and Diamondbacks…

I have 2-4” model 66’s but one is a no dash ( my father in laws duty gun) and the other is a 66–1 (my former duty gun). I also have 2 6” 586’s I bought one and the other was a gift. 3 29’s but different barrel lengths 3 Pythons but different barrel lengths etc

I see little reason to have redundant copies of the same gun. It just ties-up funds that could be used for other procurement. I make an exception for developing "care packages" for my teenage kids, where each is getting a comprehensive set of similar firearms. Pretty soon, it will be prepping for future grandchildren.

Two M37 SB nickel, sighted for 125gr bullets, and a M37 SB blue, left at 158gr. Several Model 40s and a 42 and a 642, the steel 125gr and the aluminum 158gr.

Two Improved Model 56 revolvers (2" M15) with bobbed hammer (original retained) and Rogers grips.

A few more .38 Spl revolvers, with some near duplication.

The Imp56 was the only conscious duplication. Anybody need a Centennial?

I have quite a few one of the kinds, however when it comes to 1969 through 1971 model 29-2, I’ve got a very soft spot
It might have something to do with Dirty Harry Callahan
I don’t care how they’re wrapped as long as the serial number range is correct and with a 6 1/2 inch barrel…….

I have very few exact duplicates. A1947 K22 and a 1955 version, both in blue. Two Colt Pony Pocketlites. Two K32s, both from 1955, Two 1903 Springfield, and two 32 RP targets.

Maybe not so few. All by accident.

I typically do. The idea was one’s a high a condition shooter and the other a high condition safe queen. In reality none of my old Smiths ever get shot much at all. In the end it will all work well because I have twin boys.
