I purchased a range bag yesterday from Primary Arms. So now I'm working on a list of items to stock it with. Please list a few items you feel are "must have" in a range bag. No need to mention ammo :p

otoh,

scope level
purell
otis kit
bore snake
clp
microfiber rag
net (I like catching 22LR brass so I don't have to clean up later)
leatherman EOD w/ bits

In addition to what has been mentioned:
sunscreen
spotting scope/binoculars
targets/clay pigeons

Depends on how far the firing lanes are away from your car, but perhaps you want to put a little first aid kit with in your bag.

Boxes or bags for used brass, hearing & eye protection, cleaning kit with rod, padded rest, spotting scope, basic tools, are all in mine.

Good set of screw drivers, small can gun oil, pair of tweezers, small flashlight, bandaids & moleskin, spare earplugs.

For range cleaning, I made up weed wacker lines. Melt one end to form a knob, slide a patch down the other and pull it thru the bore. Keep it and patches in a ziplock. Takes up zero room and works well.

Adding to the above...

spare parts in a small tackle box
black marker
staple gun
can of white paint
eye glass cleaner and MF cloth for optics and safety glasses
spring clamps
spare batteries

My range bag is for outdoor shooting at a non-organized range so some of the items may seem strange to some. I won't pay to shoot my own firearms.

A rag/small towel to lay your weapon on and wipe it down.

Adhesive dots (or tape) to cover holes in your target(s).

Those little tiny allen wrenches for alignment that came with your laser sights, if you have them.

Throw the rifles/guns in a hard case, ammo in a backpack.

If i have to have set things and organization of stuff specifically for the range it's no longer fun. If something brakes at the range i'm no longer having fun, regardless of being able to fix it, and packing up for the day. Its Gods way if telling me to go have a beer instead

2 chop sticks.

Leave one the way it is. With the other one, take the handle to your grinder and grind it to a flat point. Take the other end and put it in a pencil sharpener. Sharpen that end to a dull point. They work great for getting things unstuck, and you can use them with a patch to clean tight areas.

You can do this with wood dowels, but chop sticks are free at the restaurant. :)

This is also what I was going to suggest. Pretty common to get pinched or maybe wacked with a slide hard enough to break the skin. While shooting with friends, we have used a couple of bandaids out of my kit in the last 4 months.

Stuff the first aid kit, a full on plug and press kit or blow out kit with at least on tourniquet.

Boo boo kits, I can see the point of that I suppose, but unless the car is parked WAY way, I don't see the need to put them in a range bag.

KBK

Shot timer, extra holsters, MP3, ballistics charts, cable locks, chamber flags, im not sure if anybody said oil thats always important.

Direct TV remote control!!!

Drives the wife crazy trying to find it while I a gone. She blames it on the grand kids misplacing it.

Most of the items listed are in my bags or in the truck. Duct tape and WD 40 are a must have.
