My wife drives an '05 Prius and really likes it, especially when she has to buy gas. She even has a "Protected By S&W" sticker on the back window next to her "My Daughter is in the Air Force" bumper sticker and her NRA sticker.
Needless to say, she's not a tree hugging lib.
For 46,000 miles all we've had to do is change the oil as recommended by Toyota (it's only the 2010's that are being recalled for brake problems).
Wish I could say the same about my Ford F350 SD 4x4. Great truck, just expensive to maintain and it never passes a gas station it doesn't want to stop at (V10), but my BOSS V-Plow wouldn't look too good on the front of the Prius.
I remember my '80's Buick Park Avenue with the 350 "converted" diesel engine. Blew up at 21,000 miles, but that's another story. "Warranteed" by GM after I wrote them a check for over $2K.
