My First S&W Rifle

Just got the 15-22 A1 for my birthday Thursday and got to the range yesterday at lunch. 190 rounds and NO problems.

I shot 100 rounds of Federal bulk, 50 of Aguilla SuperExtra and 40 of Federal Champion. At 25y I got 5 shot groups of .6" average with the SuperExtra and Champion. Federal Bulk opened up to just over an inch. I was using a 3-9x30 Nikon BDC scope and resting the rifle on a hard shooting rest. Definately not as stable as I am with a bipod. I did some rapid fire with about 20 rounds and it ran great.

It weighs nothing. Very quickly maneuverable. I took my scope off my AR-15 and put it on the M&P. Windage was dead on. I used a different hold point for elevation and was right on.

The 25-round magazines are built very well in my opinion. They drop free when you hit the mag release too.

This makes a great platform for testing AR-15 parts or mimicking your AR so you can get more trigger time for less money. The safety and bolt release are right where they are supposed to be too.

Trying to get my hands on some of that CCI AR Tactical ammo. Just bought some MiniMags to try.

Welcome to the forum. I have had luck with all the CCI ammunition so far with no problems. I like the AR tactical but unless I order it online its a little hard to find. The Aquilla also works very well but is a little on the expensive side also. There are a lot of accessories for these rifles and you can go crazy deciding what to add on. Enjoy the 15 22 and the forum, there is a lot of good information and friendly people with advice.

Welcome. It sounds like you have the beginning stages of BRD. One of the cures is to shoot more.

I've been buying from Cabelas, want to take a drive to a shop south of me to see if he carries it. I've got 3000 rounds of it but I go through at least 500 every time at the range.

CCI Blazers shoot great in mine. Can't think of a reson I would pay more for the same results!

Congrats!

I just picked up an M&P 15-22 on Friday, took off the Kruger Tac-Driver scope, put on a 1-4X Nikon M223 and had a riot! I love this rifle!
