MY FRIEND ARTHUR ITIS

I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 15 years and I too have to thank to modern drugs to helping to be able to walk and write, and to still shoot. I have been able to tell of weather changes also. I have a problem with left lower back have had it for years, I see a pain management doctor, he has burned the nerves and that last for about 3 months. Getting old ain't for sissy's. On days before I am do for my shot for the arthritis when I go shooting I will wear a weight lifter glove the padding help with the recoil.

Arthur hurts all over from time to time, but almost always where
my thumbs hook to my hands. I wonder if shooting had anything
to do with that? An old timer told me to rub WD40 on my hands.
I tried it once and believe it did give some relief, but I thought
maybe that isn't too healthy? I hope it doesn't get worse as I
grow older. (I'm only 81 now). On the plus side, Arthur helps
me predict the weather, and he is pretty good at it. I know there
are lot worse problems, but I just wondered if anyone else knows
Arthur?

Sadly I do - along with a bunch of his relatives.....

O Arthur visits my right shoulder from time to time, old PE class injury when I was 13 but isn't much of bother there. But........
2 years ago I tumbled down a flight of stairs and O Arthur has taken up permanent residence in my mid back. Worst times are 1st getting up in the morning and laying down at night. During the day I do pretty good at blocking the pain but it sure ain't no fun.

Right knee, left ankle, hands, shoulders, and elbows. The knee is the worst. Arthur is NOBODY'S friend. Though once he visits you he seems to want to hang around permanently :D

My grand-dad and my dad both used to say that Arthur fella is a mean old B (illegitimate child).

I've had it for over 40 years. Glucosomine and Chondroitin sulphate is the miracle treatment. Costco sells the stuff in big bottles very cheap.

Arthur is not a friend of mine either :O At 63 I do argue with him alot :O As for WD 40 the base I heard is Fish oil I think not sure what else they add! Maybe I can add some zerk fitting to my joints so I can grease my joints :rolleyes:

Picked up old Arthur back in the 1980's while in the Army. Old boy has never left me. Warns me of weather changes and lets me know I'm still alive. Look don't let him hear this but between us the only joint he hasn't visited is my left elbow. I guess Arthur did that on purpose. To kind of taunt me I guess. Just be careful of his 3 friends the 3 O's. Osteopenia, Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis.

Another post from me regarding rheumatoid arthritis. My sister in law had extreme problems with this condition. She was prescribed Humira for the condition. She experienced ALL the side effects you hear on the TV ads. Unfortunately, her doctors failed to see the connection between her symptoms and her use of the drug. She had a runaway infection that she required hospitalization to control. My brother had to give her injections at home after she got out of the hospital. She then developed esophageal cancer. It seemed to develop quickly and, when diagnosed, had spread to other parts of her body. She elected not to get treatment and go into a hospice. She passed away shortly after.

Everything she suffered was described as a side effect of the Humira. Makes you wonder exactly how good these drugs are and whether you should ask more about them or ask for other, safer medications.

I lost a cousin in a similar fashion.Very talented artist,on disability by 30.Had been 6' tall in her prime.By the time she passed away in her 50s she was very hunched over,5'2" and confined to a wheelchair

My wife and I are well acquainted with Arthur and his Itis. Her hands, lower back and knees are really bad. My left shoulder, right hand, both knees and the right hip all have mild to moderate arthritis. I could be a poster adult for ibuprofen. Still, many others have it much, much worse than I do.

I had to have both Hips replaced due to arthritis,Now I have Hips made from Titanium and ceramics. I wish They could do that to My Back and Fingers because every morning when I get out of bed I sound like a bowl of rice crispies(snap crackle and pop).

Surprised no one has mentioned the copper bracelet. The hot, dry,
weather we have had recently has given Arthur a little vacation.
But as soon as a cold front or rain comes in those joints will start
burning. Thats when I grab my bracelet. It's a braided bracelet with
copper and silver. Can't even remember where I got it, but have had
it for years. It gives me some relief within less than an hour. I don't
understand it but it works.

The lady down the road mentioned she was laid up in bed with ARTHUR ITIS

I asked her if that was FRED ITIS's brother,,,,

:D

The docs have been telling me I will have arthritis in my lower back as well as left foot,,,
that has been 20 years now.

My older brother has arthritis in his football injured knee,,,
I have no pain like he describes,,,,,

So far,,, so good,,,, everything might change tomorrow.

P,S, I am pushing close to 70,,, my brother is over 80,,,,,

My body is riddled with it, hard to sleep with out taking something to make me sleep. Then after 5-6 hours I'm so stiff and sore, it takes awhile to get moving and I'm only 54yrs old. Been doing hard labor most of my life. But I just deal with it because those bills just keep coming in............
