MY GARDEN IS PROTECTED !

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE !!

my kits will really enjoy the holiday.
they are getting catnip toys.
drifter doesn't care for these, but she will love
the main presents.

there will be milk in the morn,
even tho i don't know if cud tolerates it.
then, their evening snack will be raw hamburger.
they don't like human food so i don't have to share my meal.
they will enjoy themselves, tho.

Susie! I hope your kitties know how lucky they are. They have yummy treats you've planned for Christmas and they have YOU! Merry Christmas [emoji301][emoji319][emoji175][emoji250][emoji250]

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

i don't know how you guys can keep full time indoor cats.
there's lots of snow here n it's been very cold.
drifter told me last year that she doesn't care for
temps under 25, so no one goes out for the night when the forecast is below that.
neither kit has been out for more than 15 minutes at a time for days.

i have 2 insane beasts rampaging thru the house.
starting around 11pm, these guys are zipping around at 100mph.
no sense in even trying to sleep before midnight.
their fights are no longer playful.
they end up with drifter screaming in rage,
i worry, because cud is huge.
biggest cat i've seen.
i'd toss him out, but with temps around 10 degrees,
that could be a death sentence.

if this continues, cud may become an outside cat in spring.
he can probably survive given enow time to adapt.
i'm not sure if the fights are cud's fault.
drifter seems to start the fights.

there are benefits that come with 2 kits inside at night.
i keep it cold in here n they sleep on my legs all night.
this is very pleasant.
when cud is out for the night, drifter warms my legs, but 28 lbs of cats give off a lot more heat.

PS. things ay have calmed down,

the sun is out n it's 35 degrees so both kits went out.
i don't force them. i just open the door n ask if they want out.
they did.
this is very good. they really need outside time.

les, i love lucky n bella, but they must fight.
what do you do about that?

i need to train cud to understand that he is here at
drifter's sufferance, but i don't know how.

Drifter may have to teach him that! Because they are part of a family, I suspect that while they may"fight" they probably won't do much damage to each other. Since they're both outside for hours, you can't control what they do to one another out there, and they are both still living so, I guess you can safely assume they're ok with each other for the most part. oh, they don't fight outside.
drifter melts into the scenery n wants no company while hunting.
i do hope they can work this out.
you don't want to hear this, but if i ever see drifter bleeding, cud will not survive for more than minutes.

First make sure that the blood was actually from him... Not some other way that she hurt herself... Don't be hasty... Stuff happens by accident too.

Susie, Bella and Lucky are like a herd of elephants running around the cabin!! First he chases her, then she chases him!! They will spend ten minutes lovingly grooming each other, then begin a cat fight that sounds like they are fighting to the death!! Growling and hissing "bunny flapping" each other with their back paws, biting each other on the neck...at first I was really concerned, and thought they were fighting to the death. But neither one has ever had a mark on them. No blood, and I think they are just playing!! Sort of like a brother and sister playing at fighting. They were both "fixed" before either one became sexually mature, and there doesn't seem to be any mating ritual stuff in their play...they just have fun chasing each other around the place. I wouldn't worry too much about drifter and cud, I'll bet they are just having fun.

I know that cats have a serious side as well, and are deadly hunters, both of my babies love to catch mice, and so forth, but I think that cats have a fun loving side as well. I know that they both like to play with toys, and will bat paper wads around like a hockey pucks.

Don't worry too much, and don't overreact if one of them accidentally gets scratched while they are playing!!

Best Regards, Les

that calms me, les.
it sure doesn't look like play, tho.
it looks like a fight n i hate hearing drifter cry out.

cud is 3 times drifter;s size. i think he bullies her.
drifter is MY KITTY n i feel protective of her.
keeping cud may not have been the smartest thing i've done,
but he's stuck here.
i neglected to socialize these guys n they won't tolerate other humans.
the cats i got jobs as barn cats accept food but won't let anyone get close.

cats really live it up when it's warm today has been in the 40s, so my guys have been outside all day.
drifter, of course, goes in n out, since she has a doorwoman.
they have been indoors mostly, this las week, with temps in the teens.
none of us were happy about this.

my trees were unguarded.
see, they are wrapped in fiberglass for the winter.
mice can crawl in n find a cozy home.
then, they eat all the bark off n kill the above ground tree.
my trees need year round protection.

Then you've got the right kitties for the job...[emoji76][emoji76]... Go get those mice! On cuddles, on drifter! Your Mom is counting on you two [emoji471][emoji471]
