Hmmm.... Tucumari is only 130 miles from Roswell as the crow (or "whatever") flies

Something just struck me as odd. The dispatcher's reply to Engineer1911 was:
The officers found no one at the house address I gave them. The house is abandoned (not just vacant) and in disrepair. The last known owner was a single male. Her last post was July 14/20. I don't know the weather patterns in the area but it seems odd that a house could be "in disrepair" in 9 months. And the last known owner was a single male, so she presumably would have been renting.
Good point. Mind you, at this point, many things could be possibleYou Expressed Exactly what I was thinking

Is it possible they know each other

Post #1260:sounds a bit like Suzie was a social drop out. A lawyer that had enough and move to away from people. Possibly she turned into a complete hermit. I just hope she is OK and happy somewhere.
I know a woman who lives in a small one room cabin with a loft. No electricity, heats and cooks with wood. I drove by on spring evening and saw her out standing with a bunch of deer and I thinks she was talking to them. I see here in the grocery store from time to time and she says hi. If she is happy and content its all good. I can see how people could just walk away from society.
The lady (dispatcher) was emotionally upset that she could not provide more information "about my friend".
I think if she sees our posts, I'd hope she'd know how much we care about her. I feel like a good friend that I enjoyed so much has disappeared. I wouldn't even mind if she was mad as long as she's ok[emoji120][emoji176]Post #1260:
i feel a debt of gratitude to these kits.
they have improved the life of this hermit.
so, i've made arrangement for their care if i die.
From her posts about wanting to move to Wyo a few years ago, it seems she wanted somewhere even more isolated than where she was (with "neighbors 3 miles away")
i'm looking at places off the road. no chance of help from cops.
If she's still around and reads this (wihout logging in as it would come up in her activity) I hope she isn't taking offense at our concern.
Thanks @Engineer 1911 from me too. @old bear it could go either way. The fact that the dispatcher was upset makes me lean (sadly) toward the possibility that her story may have had an unhappy end(and her kitties too) because she mentioned that the only source of outside water was the canal which would dry up in the heat of summer which was about 9 months long in her area. So she always had water out for the kitties. Since this would have been in the height of last year's summer, I don't have much hope of the kitties surviving without her, whether she had to go into a facility without being able to make plans for their care, or the ultimate sad ending. Thanks @Iggy for telling us that you were able to email her for a while. If she hadn't been feeling well, it's hardly likely unless she had help(she mentioned a sister) that she would have moved to Wyoming. I pray that she's ok, but I fear we may never know. Thanks guys! I appreciate all the love you feel for Susie! Short of hiring a Private Investigator, I don't know what else to do. If anyone on the forum is local to Tucumcari, New Mexico and has any further ideas, please contact one of us. Thank you, Redbert31, Linda Pintoff. ([email protected]) my PM box seems to be full and I have tried to empty to no avail. Feel free to email me if you have any news[emoji176][emoji176][emoji120][emoji120]Engineer1911, firs thank you for all your efforts.
The above makes me wonder, if the dispatcher was upset do to the fact that she had no further information for you. Or was she upset because she had additional information she could Not share? Do you have any thoughts about that?
Thanks, old bear
Yikes.... Somehow I can't imagine susieqz taking to a senior's facilityA quick check of senior facilities might turn up something. I was under the definite impression that she was pushing her luck where she was.
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the wal-mart grocery delivery guy found her on the floor if he bothered to try and notify her.
She said that at least her cats would have something to eat for a while if she croaked.
I've asked if he knows anything about her law career. EDIT: nadaShe definitely lived out in the country. It was close to a mile from her house to the mailbox. The Closest neighbor was some distance away.
She was reduced to getting groceries and stuff delivered as she was no longer able to shop or even get to town very often.
She took the cats in for treatment, but that was desperate times.
Like I said, I am glad she finally made some arrangement for that cats. It's encouraging and yet discouraging that she finally acknowledged she couldn't stay where she was. She is/was one hard-headed woman.
She knew her away around dealing with senior situations, as she had helped them as a lawyer before becoming pretty much a hermit.
... She was just griping that it was getting to civilized where she was....
Welcome to the "Desperately Seeking Susan" sub-thread of the S&W LoungeI really worry about her and her fate, she just plain disappeared.
I would t know how to go about inquiring, but it might be that a mail carrier, UPS or FedEx driver might know better than LE just where her house would be in relation to the mailbox...perhaps since the mailbox and house seem to be some distance apart, that LE found the wrong home.
Best Regards, Les
