My gun world sure has changed...

In early February of this year, the Motley Fool reported this. About a week later, Bloomberg reported the deal was salvageable, but I've not read anything since.

I read news Monday that Cabela's agreed to be bought by Bass Pro for $61 per share instead of the previous $65. Also selling the bank unit differently. Cabela's said on Monday it now expects the deal to close Q3.

I went to Dallas Market Hall gun show about two weeks ago. It wasn't the same as 2-3 years ago. Less tables, less people. In the Metroplex, the best shows are Ft. Worth and Big Town. I did like being to walk at leisure without squeezing through crowds.

New Midway flyer arrived today. I see that Midway is now the go-to place for bicycles. Not just any bicycles.. Midway has the "Rambo". How tactical is that, right?

Ya know... I was thinking of buying a new lawn mower from Lowe's but maybe I should look at Midway first.

I read the same thing. The banking unit was being sold off, as well as the credit card division. I think to different sellers. That might have been at the request (order) of either the SEC or the DOJ as a condition of the sale.

Stock holders are going to get a smaller pay out, but not a much smaller pay out.

It will be interesting to see what Bass Pro does with the stores, inventory, and of course the employees.

I get about a dozen or so emails a day from Midway. The only ones that I pay much attention to involve sales of magazines, especially 3rd Gen magazines.

Everything changes, but there's always good with the bad.

I decided to buy a particular .22 rifle to match the extra hole in my head.:D Three days later it's at the local gun store, and the rings I ordered from another company were in my post office box. The new scope will be here tomorrow.

I don't see anything wrong with companies trying to make money, I didn't work for free myself most of the time.
